HPCA Brand Campaign
JHP conceptualised and manages the brand campaign for the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa, with Lucas Radebe and Jacques Kallis as the "voices" of Hospice.
For Hospice Week in May and World Hospice and Palliative Care Day in October, JHP coordinated a sponsored advertising campaign by securing free advertising space in magazines, national newspapers, radio stations and TV. In the first few months a total of R2.5 million worth of free advertising was accomplished and in 2010 already more than R3 million.
Grapevine has sponsored the "Virtual Voices" sms campaign, where anyone can sms "Hospice" to 40772 to donate R20 to Hospice. By sending a sms, you stand a chance to win a Bafana Bafana jersey signed by Lucas Radebe.
Lucas Radebe and Jacques Kallis were announced as the official "voices" of Hospice at the annual HPCA conference on 2 September 2009 in Gauteng.

Footgear
1. Blisters for Bread
JHP and Footgear, sponsors of Blisters for Bread, walked to feed hungry children on Sunday 31 August in support of the Peninsula School Feeding Association.

2. Carel du Toit / Footgear 5km Fun Walk
The emphasis is on fun in the Carel du Toit and Footgear 5km Fun Walk which took place on Sunday 19 April at the grounds of Tygerberg Hospital. The Carel du Toit Centre teaches deaf children to speak and interact with others. Footgear pledged a minimum of R 50 000 in support of this worthy cause.
3. Pick 'n Pay Argus Cycle Tour refreshments station
The "Tour of Storms" was the new nick-name for the Pick 'n Pay Argus Cycle Tour 2009, but the Footgear refreshment station in Bakoven cooked up a storm of its own! Assisting the thousands of cyclists that battled through the wind was the name of the game, whether it was helping the Coca-Cola truck hand out drinks, helping the medics at the medical tent, fixing broken bicycles at the on-hand cycle repair shop or energetically cheering the cyclists on for the last 9km stretch.
4. Re-opening of Access Park store
JHP secured the PR and brand strategy role for Footgear as they expanded their retail operation in the Western Cape. Their bigger and better store in Access Park, Kenilworth was officially re-opened in November at a function for suppliers, staff and others who have supported them over the years. It was announced at the re-opening that Achmat Hassiem, shark attack survivor and Para-Olympian will be the new brand ambassador for Footgear Western Cape.

The Big Easy restaurant
JHP managed the PR campaign and opening event for Ernie Els' new restaurant in Stellenbosch, The Big Easy. If the finest cuisine, freshest ingredients and flavours of France whet your appetite, then make a note to visit The Big Easy where you will be able to enjoy the delicious taste of laid-back luxury served with a hint of history. Situated in the charming university town of Stellenbosch in historical Dorp Street, is an elegant Cape Dutch-style house called La Gratitude. Built in 1810 by the first Reverent of Stellenbosch, it boasts a blend of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture. This grande old lady has been gently and tastefully renovated and refreshed to provide the home for Ernie Els's new signature eating spot - The Big Easy.
The restaurant was officially opened at a glamorous event which included fine wine, delectable canapés and fast paced music performed by Sterling EQ.

Sandown Motor's - Madame Mercedes Musical Mystery Tour
The Madame Mercedes Musical Mystery Tour gave Sandown Motors the chance to acknowledge their top female customers with a fun day jam-packed with music, mystery and luxury. Starting at the Mercedes-Benz Lifestyle Centre the women drove in "quartets" whilst competing in a music quiz, and enjoyed a four part car rally into the winelands. The first stop featured butterflies and energy drinks; stop two was high tea at Rust en Vrede with Ryk Neethling, their chef, David Higgs and a Capella group called Perfect Score. Final clues were given by commentator Gavin Cowley at The Big Easy, Ernie Els' new restaurant in Dorp Street. A raffle for a stay at luxury Bushmanskloof and other exciting prizes was held in aid of The Pioneer School for the Visually Impaired. Carrol Boyes gave each rally driver a silver cocktail plate as a memento of an unforgettable experience.
The women were able to experience, first hand, the opulence of some of the latest Mercedes-Benz models which included the new generation A & B-Class, C-Class, CLC, CLS, E-Class, ML, GL, S-Class and the lead car which was the exhilarating CLK350 Cabriolet, driven by Corné Krige.

Never stop dreaming - National Bandana Day 2008
The Sunflower Fund National Bandana Day took place on 23 September. People across South Africa wore their bright and beautiful bandanas as a sign of solidarity with those suffering from leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders.
This year's bandana design was based on the concept, 'never stop dreaming.' Many young South Africans are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses such as leukaemia and with that diagnosis comes the reality that they may never fulfill their dreams. The Sunflower Fund attempt to offer these young people a second chance at reaching their dreams by providing a suitable bone marrow stem cell donor which could help them to overcome their illness. The bandana design features pictures depicting the common dreams of young children.
Funds raised from the sale of these bandanas go towards sustaining the work of The Sunflower Fund. The Sunflower Fund aims to educate and recruit well informed potential bone marrow stem cell donors that are ethnically diverse in an effort to save the lives of those needing a transplant when suffering from life-threatening blood disorders.

Bishops Next Wave summit
The Next Wave summit – Bishops beyond 2010, was hosted on 21 and 22 July with the main focus on thinking globally while acting locally. The initial conference in 2001 enabled the school to strategically plot the way forward to 2010 but this summit aimed to identify and embrace the opportunities beyond 2010. They came, they dreamt and designed. A visionary exploration of the way forward from 2010 and beyond was experienced by parents, teachers, boys and friends of Bishops in their Next Wave Summit.
