Nigel Pierce

"Too much planning, too little living"

Nigel is witty and funny, and known for pushing the boundaries in radio as well as captivating audiences over the past eight years. Having grown up in Cape Town, Nigel was mesmerised by radio at a young age. He has acquired the following degrees - BA LLB LLM.

Starting out at campus radio, he has since moved on to having shows on leading radio stations in the Western Cape. He is currently on Good Hope FM Breakfast (weekdays 6am to 9am) on The Nigel Pierce Show.

The Nigel Pierce show has become well known for its charity work and projects - some of the initiatives are listed below:

The Nigel Pierce Toy Toy campaign which collects toys for under-privileged children.

Nigel Pierce Makes a Blanket Statement which collects blankets and clothes during the winter months for those living in abject poverty.

The Nigel Pierce Book Club which collects books for schools or libraries who don't have the necessary resources.

Nigel Pierce is a Jeanius which collected denim jeans for people who are battling financially.

Nigel Pierce is Making a Meal of It, an initiative in which schools have to bring non-perishables for communities in need.

Radio Lollipop where the radio show is broadcast from a Children's Hospital during the festive season.

Kinky Afro - a compilation of classic dance records. The Kinky Afro Parties attract up to 10 000 people.

Nigel exercises everyday and has completed the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon four times and more than ten standard marathons. He also completed the double in 2005: The Two Oceans Ultra marathon and the Pick 'n Pay Cape Argus Cycle Tour.

Nigel runs a media company called The Nigel Pierce Pty (Ltd) which is specifically designed to create, develop and package concepts for clients. He also came 7th in the Top 50 list of GQ Magazine's Best Dressed Men of The Year Awards 2005.

Nigel has MC'd at numerous functions and events over the past eight years.
